How this drill works – This [tag]football[/tag] drill is continuous, and the [tag]offensive lineman[/tag] must block the defenders that approach the [tag]quarterback[/tag]. This can be a competition among offensive lineman to protect the QB for as long as possible. Coaches can time this drill to see who gets the best time.
The [tag]coach[/tag] will stand behind the offensive lineman and the tackling dummy and point at which player is going to rush next. The offensive lineman has to knock the defender to the ground. Then the coach will send the next player to [tag]rush[/tag]. The offensive lineman must regain position and meet the next player.
The offensive lineman must get back up and meet the defensive players to try to knock them down. The defensive player cannot get back up and rush the QB, once they have been stopped, the next player goes. If the defensive lineman gets to the QB, the offensive lineman is done.
Result – The offensive player will always look for a player to block right until the whistle blows.
