Here is a [tag]special teams football drill[/tag] that I think will help the whole team.
Players line up in rows of 4 wide. The first row goes down field about 30 yards. Your kicker can kick them the [tag]football[/tag] off a tee, punt it, or a [tag]football coach[/tag] can throw it to the players down field; it’s a little more accurate.
Then one player down field will return it while the other three block for him. when the ball is kicked the next 4 in line go for the ball carrier and make the tackle. Then the 4 that went for the ball carrier get a chance to return it.
I like to narrow the field up a little and give them a 25 or 30 yard lane to run in. This gets the whole team involved and players that normally don’t return kicks have a chance to show what they got. You may have talent sitting on the sidelines and not know it.
