Full drill
This is one of my team’s favorite [tag]football offense[/tag] drills. We call it the Scoop and Go Drill.
Scoop and Go Drill
- Have as many defensive lineman as you want spread at least 3 yards apart each facing an offensive lineman.
- All lineman get in a 3 point stance.
- Place a baseball between the 2 lineman.
- The [tag]football coach[/tag] will tell the defensive line to go left or right.
- A coach used as a center snaps to himself which initiates the [tag]football drill[/tag].
On ball movement, the D-Lineman fire out and scoop up the baseball. If they’re going to their left, they scoop with their right hand and vise versa. This keeps their shoulder down and twists their torso to insure a good rip move. After scooping the ball, they continue through with the arm that scooped the ball and rip through the offensive lineman.
