How to run this drill

Football Offense is built for youth, high-school, and volunteer coaches who need clear drill language — not a random cone circuit. Beginners can install the first progression; experienced staffs can layer competition.

  1. Read the purpose once, then walk the setup on air before live tempo.
  2. Demonstrate one clean rep so players see landmarks, pad level, and finish.
  3. Run short competitive periods — quality reps beat long lines.
  4. Close with one coaching cue players can repeat in the huddle next period.

From Reggie,
Two things that really help my [tag]football[/tag] offensive line is the mirror drill and, believe it or not, bear crawls.
Mirror drills work on my big kids footwork.   It helps them move their feet fast to get in front of pass rushing D-linemen and backer. This makes my QB feel safe in the pocket and bear crawls help my O-line STAY LOW when run blocking.

I hear a lot of people say that [tag]football defense[/tag] win titles, but if you have a solid O-line like I do, you control the clock. I had games last year that the other team only had the ball once or twice in each half because we just run the ball.   The only time I pass is when I have no choice–3rd and long or 4th down. We don’t try and score a lot of points. we control the clock, and beat down a defense.

Coaching tips

  • Keep one cue per rep so kids hear the same language every time.
  • Film the first live set; pause on footwork and finish, not just the ball.
  • Pair this drill with a matching play install so practice transfers to game day.
