From Rob”¦
This is one our kids favorite [tag]football drills[/tag] to do.

Two bags about 5 yards apart. Two offensive linemen, one running back vs one defensive lineman and one linebacker.

Place the ball inside the one yard line. The idea is to score on offense or stop them on defense. This can be a very intense and physical drill. This [tag]football drill[/tag] helped to toughen our kids and taught our running backs to sell out at the goal line.

Board Tackling:
Two man [tag]football[/tag] drill.

Players start out facing each other about 2 yards apart. The players are straddling a board(on-line board) and on the whistle they tackle each other. The drill ends as soon as one player has the advantage or the players’ shoulders begin to turn.

The idea behind the drill is to focus on firing the hands and running the feet on contact.

Coaching tips

  • Keep one cue per rep so kids hear the same language every time.
  • Film the first live set; pause on footwork and finish, not just the ball.
  • Pair this drill with a matching play install so practice transfers to game day.
