This is a reaction drill where the inside guy is going to try to knock the ball down before the other player is able to catch it.
Remind your linebackers that it’s important to go through the man instead so that they can still get a hand on the ball and also be able to make the wrap in case they miss the ball.
For this football linebacker drill, it’s a good idea to use a soft football that’s been slightly deflated so that your players can slap the ball down or get a grip on the ball””whatever they need to do.
