2 Drills to Improve Pass Blocking Skills
In today’s video blog post, we are talking about 2 great drills to improve your pass blocking skills – the “3 Point Mirror Drill” and the “Beat ‘Em Drill”. These drills work on moving laterally and not leaning the body, while reinforcing the lockout, the punch, the timing, the foot movement, the head placement and the relaxing of the hands
You can develop some competitiveness in this drill by putting up two cones and having a full contact between two players. The offensive player is mirrored down the line, and he will shuffle laterally, and at the end of the drill, the player will put a move on the opposing player and beat them and go to the quarterback, and that’s the cut off point.
We prefer to do this drill in helmet and shoulder pads.
